220 Chiefs take Bar Exams today
by Will Ladanga and Michelle Saraum

Roberto Lock

An assembly of fully-geared, valiant soldiers, with a battle cry of "Leave no man behind!" will march toward De La Salle University on Taft Avenue as 220 barristers from Arellano University School of Law (AUSL) will take the month-long Bar Examinations. Led by 2006 Class Valedictorian and Cum Laude graduate Roberto Bobby" Lock this year's barristers are expected not only to surpass last year's record but to make it to the much coveted Top 10.

"We are confident that Bobby Lock will do well but we wouldn't want to add to the pressure. Just let him be himself when he taKes the bar exams. His morale is up. But we still have to look after the needs of other barristers," Florentino Cayco III, Director for Administration and Finance of AUSL, said.

"This batch is adequately prepared academically. They are now just suiting themselves up to prepare psychologically," Cayco said.

"Just keep up the good work. Do better. Strive for the best. You are prepared so just do it," Cayco added.

In an interview. Atty. Gabriel Dela Pena, College Secretary, expressed his confidence with this year's batch.

"I'm very confident with this batch. I've seen their performances since their freshman days. There are 11 members of the Order of the Flaming Arrows who will be taking the bar this year. Anyone of them is a potential topnotcher," he added.

Dela Peria reminded the barristers to, "Stay calm, do not panic, pray a lot and keep focused on every subject.

Political Law and Labor and Social Legislations are scheduled on the first Sunday; Civil Law and Taxation on the second Sunday; Criminal Law and Commercial Law on the third Sunday; and finally, Remedial Law as well as Legal Ethics and Practical Exercises on the fourth Sunday.
